Game Description

In Up Above, we step into the shoes of a child who imagines exploring space and dreams of piloting his cardboard spaceship, shooting down and destroying asteroids, and discovering new planets where he can embark on space missions.

A small cardboard house, painted by his own hands, becomes the shelter from which he can travel to other worlds.

His mission: to destroy the asteroids threatening to crash onto the Red Planet.

En Up Above nos ponemos en la piel de un niño que imagina explorar el espacio y fantasea con pilotar su nave de cartón, disparar y destruir asteroides, y descubrir nuevos planetas en los que hacer misiones espaciales. 

Una casita de cartón pintada por él mismo es el refugio desde donde podrá viajar a los otros mundos.

Su misión: destruir los asteroides que amenazan con caer en el Planeta Rojo.

Up Above is a space walking-sim with elements of shooter, exploration, and adventure. One of the greatest challenges in developing this video game was designing a functional gravity system for the different planets, one that affects both the character and the ship while remaining intuitive for the player. Adding to this technical challenge is a procedural ship generation system, a modular animated and controllable ship, and the implementation of destructible elements such as asteroids.

Up above es un walking-sim espacial, con elementos de shooter, exploración y aventura. Uno de los mayores retos del desarrollo de este videojuego fue plantear un sistema de gravedad funcional para los diferentes planetas, que afecte tanto al personaje como a la nave, y resulte intuitivo para el jugador. A este desafío técnico se une un sistema de generación de naves procedural, una nave modular animada y controlable y la implementación de elementos destructibles como los asteroides.
